Gareth Morgan is president of Qpex; he has more than 30 years of global pharmaceutical experience in clinical development, project management, alliance management and strategic portfolio management.
Prior to joining Qpex, Gareth served as senior vice president and global head of portfolio management and AMR policy at Shionogi. Gareth joined Shionogi in 2007 and has held positions of increasing responsibility. His role included providing strategic and policy direction related to infectious diseases and he has frequently represented Shionogi on related government affairs and policy assignments. He was instrumental in the company’s global siderophore cephalosporin discovery program and has led efforts to establish several important public-private partnerships. He led the development of a landmark license and technology transfer agreement with the Global Antibiotic Research and Development Partnership (GARDP) and a collaboration agreement with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) which aim to transform access to antibiotics in low-and middle-income countries. Prior to joining Shionogi, Gareth held clinical development and project management roles at large pharmaceutical companies, managing teams focusing on global and domestic registrational programs across multiple therapeutic areas.
Gareth earned a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Biological Science at Plymouth University, UK, and a Master of Science in Biological Science and a Master of Business Administration from Illinois State University.
